ITRON

Power output for perfect sound control

iTRON is a revolutionary electronic circuit from Avantgarde that, for the first time, perfectly controls the acceleration of the diaphragm to produce an incredibly detailed, pristine, and crystal-clear sound.

Matthias Ruff

Progress is always a matter of the mind.

Questioning the established to discover the new.

In 2005, Matthias Ruff had the idea of developing electronics that would not only amplify signals, but also directly control the acceleration of a loudspeaker’s diaphragm. The vision of the perfect driver never left him.

The voice coil in a speaker works with electricity.

But 99.9% of all amplifiers are voltage amplifiers. Does that make sense?

The power of physics. Ohm's law.

According to the laws of electro physics, a voltage amplifier can only work properly if the resistance of the loudspeaker is a constant. Only then will the acceleration of the diaphragm correspond exactly to the voltage of the music signal.

However, loudspeaker resistance is variable and constantly changing.

A voltage amplifier disregards this relationship. The result can therefore never be correct.

Voltage amplifiers and loudspeakers simply do not go well together.

Take the perfect voltage amplifier and the perfect loudspeaker. And yet the two can never harmonize properly together.

The interfaces just don’t work together. The result is distortion, temporal inaccuracies, and a loss of purity in the music.

The ideal amplifier delivers current.

A precise flow of current in the output of a current amplifier directly controls the acceleration of the diaphragm and, therefore, the sound.

Independent of the varying impedance of the loudspeaker.

What is it that makes the sound of a current amplifier so unique?

Better dynamics.

All impedance fluctuations of the speaker are perfectly compensated. As a result, the current output ensures extremely dynamic diaphragm acceleration.

Music sounds as if unleashed. An incredible sound experience like a concert on steroids.

More details.

Particularly at very low volumes, and therefore sensitive electrical signals, the iTRON circuit is able to compensate perfectly for the negative effects of inductance.

The sound is exhilaratingly vibrant, detailed, and luminous, even with soft music.

Extended Tweeter.

The iTRON has a tremendous high frequency resolution, as the increase in the reactance of the tweeter at high frequencies is compensated for perfectly.

Combined with the new XT3 supertweeter, the result is a fabulously delicate reproduction all the way up to the highest frequencies, without the usual system-induced level drop.

The most accurate timing there is.

The diaphragm is always accelerated in the correct time. With iTRON, every sound detail comes at the right time.

Exactly to the thousandth of a second. All drivers perfectly synchronized, harmonious and without any temporal interference.

Extreme expanded spatiality.

The impulse response of a loudspeaker is superior with iTRON. This means that even the smallest time differences in music are reproduced with crystal clarity.

For a stunning 3-dimensional sound experience, as if you were sitting in the middle of the front row at a live performance.

As little distortion as technically possible.

No conventional amplifier sounds anywhere near as natural as the iTRON.

No artificial artifacts of a voltage amplifier are superimposed on the music signal. The technology disappears. The sound detaches from the speaker. Music sounds natural & pure.

iTRON - the purest voltage to current converter ever.

The patented iTRON circuit is a balanced, single-ended circuit with no negative feedback. The output is a perfectly orchestrated current signal that precisely follows the voltage of the input.

Strictly speaking, it is not just a sophisticated amplifier, but a perfect voltage/current converter for direct control of the diaphragm movement.
