HiFi-Studio Wittmann presents zero-feedback chain at the Süddeutsche HiFi-Tage 2024

Press release from HiFi-Studio Wittmann:

‘High-end systems that manage without negative feedback (zero feedback) in the individual amplifier circuits from the source to the loudspeakers are rare. HiFi-Studio Wittmann is therefore demonstrating an extraordinary chain at the Süddeutsche HiFi-Tage 2024 with the support of IAD. Consisting of products from the manufacturers Soulnote and Avantgarde Acoustic, it exemplifies what happens when you combine a D/A converter, preamplifier and active loudspeakers in such a way that the ‘measuring instrument’ that is most important for euphoric sound reacts euphorically: the human ear.

‘Negative feedback’ is a similarly broad field to “hi-fi and measurement technology”. Basically, it can be said that Although negative feedback reduces the sum of all distortions, the complexity of the topic increases because negative feedback always generates new, higher-harmonic distortions. Soulnote and Avantgarde Acoustic are two companies that take an equally critical approach to both issues. Both the Japanese electronics manufacturer and the horn specialists from the Hessian Odenwald region rely on circuits in so-called zero-feedback mode.

The Avantgarde Acoustic UNO SD horn loudspeaker presented by HiFi-Studio Wittmann works with the fully active ‘iTRON’ module. It is equipped with a unique and patented current amplifier technology that controls the acceleration of the diaphragms directly from the amplifier for the first time using a single-ended circuit – and without negative feedback.

Soulnote’s amplifiers and D/A converters are based on a selection of components and circuit designs that enable a linear reproduction from the outset (and not via a correction loop), in which the distortion of the components involved is in an extraordinarily natural relationship to the musical source material.

When the Soulnote electronics are combined with active loudspeakers from Avantgarde Acoustic, the result is an incredibly airy, involving sound of resilient lightness and breathtaking effortlessness – to be heard exclusively at the HiFi-Studio Wittmann trade fair appearance at the Süddeutsche HiFi-Tage 2024, which will take place on the weekend of 21/22 September at the Le Méridien Hotel in Stuttgart, admission is free.

Other highlights that HiFi-Studio Wittmann will be demonstrating to music lovers in Stuttgart include the heavyweight and flexible sounding analogue turntables from Acoustic Signature, as well as DS Audio light pickups and state-of-the-art streaming components from Innuos.’
